Deurne, 1974.
Fromthat grew up in an artist family, where imagination, form, and creation were naturally present from an early age. That environment shaped his vision and forms part of the foundation of his work, in which he manages to find meaning in everyday objects and materials. His art is conceptual, direct, and substantively strong. His work aligns with the tradition of the ready-made but is given a distinctly unique interpretation: objects are not simply moved or displayed, but are imbued with a clear meaning. What appears simple at first glance often turns out to be layered and thoughtfully constructed. With an exceptional eye for detail and composition, he manages to transform the ordinary into something that touches the viewer. His works encourage looking beyond the object itself. They raise questions about context, value, function, and perception. At the same time, there is also room for humor and irony. That subtle undertone runs like a common thread through his works. His art is to the point, clear, fearless, and striking, but never superficial. An essential part of his artistry is that he not only conceives his ideas himself, but also technically develops and realizes them. Thanks to his strong technical aptitude, he is able to keep concept and execution in his own hands. He understands materials, constructions, and techniques in detail and possesses the ability to manufacture almost anything he envisions. Precisely because of this, his work is not only substantively compelling, but also exceptionally strong in its execution.
